Avni is the head of communications and events and is responsible for ensuring that IOI’s world-class research is shared with its wide range of audiences. She manages public engagement, events, media relations and digital campaigns for the institute.

Prior to joining the IOI, Avni worked at Oxfordshire County Council where she led public consultation and engagement for the council’s most high-profile and strategic transport changes. She has over ten years of experience working in public and higher-education sectors in India and the UK. In India, Avni worked at The Energy and Resources Institute where she engaged with international policymakers and business leaders on issues related to climate change and sustainable development in India. Avni has a masters degree in Sustainable Development from the University of Exeter.
