Madison Goforth
DPhil Student
AMR bacterial evolution

Biography

Madison is a DPhil student in Biology studying the (meta)genomics of Campylobacter in LMICs, trying to characterize and understand the variation among sources to attribute genomic characteristics like AMR genes.

Before joining the University of Oxford in Samuel Sheppard's laboratory, Madison was a part of Dr. Kerry Cooper's laboratory, studying bacterial shifts and diversity on the surfaces of melons. She studied Microbiology and Food Safety at the University of Arizona and is passionate about microbial communities in connection to social and environmental causes.
